MECCA Trails

Mountain bikers will find wildlife watching an added amenity to the beautiful vistas of the Little Turtle River & Flowage at MECCA Trails. From open wetlands to aspen and pine plantations, trails offer an exhilarating and peaceful encounter with nature. The Little Turtle Flowage Trailhead is preferred for spring, summer, and fall trail use. To get to the Little Turtle Flowage Trailhead, take US Highway 51 to County Trunk Highway FF (about one mile north of Mercer, turn at the Cranberry Inn).  Take FF west about one mile to Popko's Circle East.  Take Popko's Circle East south almost two miles to Joe's Shack Road.  Take Joe's Shack Road east to the Little Turtle Waterfowl Management Area.

Winman Trails

WinMan Trails, just east of Mercer at the intersection of Highways J and W, has over 11 miles of machine-built flow trails designed for all levels of riders with features that can be safely navigated by novice riders or ridden aggressively by advanced riders including berm turns, rock features, and freeride structures.

North Lakeland Discovery Center

North Lakeland Discovery Center offers beginner and intermediate riders 12 miles of off-road multi-use trails with gentle terrain that winds through the woods, around Statehouse lake and along the Manitowish River. Enjoy biking  from dawn to dusk and explore a variety of habitats each with their own unique plants and animals.

Iron County Waterfalls

Iron County is blessed with an abundance of spectacular waterfalls. Most are located in more remote, wild areas unspoiled by the crowds. Some can be easily driven to while others require walking and maybe a bit of orienteering to locate. All are worth the adventure of finding!
